The following is an excerpt from the book "A Poetic Labyrinth," a tale written in poetic verse by Lori Lake ~

Theseus

 What’s behind this,
This patriarchal myth,
This tale you use
To cover truth?
Is it power?
Is it fear?

The center holds
No minotaur,
No monster to slay.
This is the space
Of the Goddess,
This is the labyrinth womb.

But you know this.
Through all
The layers,
All the ways
You spin the tale
You know.

Does killing bring you power?
Inability to birth life
Hurts you so.
Is it as close
As you can get,
The other side of this door?

Here
Is the sacred space,
The healing
You seek,
The sacred marriage,
Yours and mine.

Set down your sword,
Your wounds
Are self-inflicted.
Healing awaits
In union,
Inclusive embrace.
